Property Review For The Unique Mediterranean Home At 10360 Keswick Ave., LA CA 90064
This property review is for the unique Mediterranean home at 10360 Keswick Ave., LA CA 90064. Now I am not even sure where to start with this home, so why don't we go ahead and give the stats. According to the MLS, it’s listed as a 4 bedroom / 3 bath, 2,608 sq ft home on a 6,875 sq ft lot. Just looking at those stats, one would think...WOW...if you know Westwood at all, that sounds like a good size home for the price. But before you get too excited, let me talk a little bit about this mystery funhouse. To start off, the contractor or owner decided to put in two front doors at the entrance to this house (you can see the two front doors in the picture provided-the 2nd door is slightly behind the column). I assume they were going to remove one at the end of the remodel, but they are still there. The outside landscaping is pretty desolate, but a far cry from the chain link fence that once surrounded the house for longer than a year before coming to the market. Inside the house is a very bizarre layout. It seems as though they added on to the house and didn't move any walls to make the house more functional. The living room from the old structure was converted to an oversized master suite. The master bathroom is incomplete with a confusion of materials in the partially remodeled master bathroom. The rest of the smallish bedrooms are in the back of the house and remain unchanged from the original house. It would have been nice to move a few walls to make the rooms more proportionate. The other two bathrooms and kitchen are original and never got touched during the remodel project as well. I believe some of the story goes that the family was living in the house while the remodel project was going on. Thus, they never made it far enough to leave the house to change the original portion of the house. Anyway, at this point the house is going to need some work and a creative mind to put the pieces together. The property was listed on 8/16/08 for $1,325,000 and has been on the market for 24 days now. Last week the home received a 5.7% or $76,000 price reduction, down to $1,249,000.
